About me:
This short Bio provides a brief look at my: education, experience, life, and hobbies.

EDUCATION: My educational credentials began with the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from York College in York, Nebraska. www.york.edu/    In 2012, I completed a Masters of Religion (MAR) degree in Intercultural Studies from Liberty University. www.liberty.edu/          It was during that time, that I had the opportunity to work under the leadership of World Help, while completing a brief internship in Rwanda, Africa. worldhelp.net/rwanda/
In 2013, I completed a Masters of Teaching (MAT) with an emphasis in teaching Language Art from Liberty University. In 2015, I completed an Educational Specialist (Ed S) degree in curriculum and instruction from Liberty University. Currently, I am working to complete a Doctorate in the area of curriculum and instruction from Liberty University. Education, for me, is a life-long value. I hope to always continue learning/growing so that I have more to offer those I serve as part of a team that honors the vision of the leaders/administration that I represent.

WHY TEACHING? I entered the field of teaching because I wanted to make a difference by empowering young adults to become agents of social change that transform the communities in which they live and to impact the global community as well.

EXPERIENCE: I have over 5+ years of experience teaching a variety of subjects at the collegiate-level, including but not limited to: Ethics (Bachelor's-level), Research Methods (Bachelor's-level), Written Analysis (Bachelor's-level), Technical Writing, Professional Communication, Rhetoric in Contemporary Culture, Exposition and Persuasion, English Composition, Strategies for the Technical Professional, Reading Strategies, College Writing, and others. I teach both online and face-to-face courses.

FUN FACTS: I grew up in Chico, California. www.choosechico.com/must-see/
I left to attend college. Since then, I have been married to my best friend- David Weatherby, for nearly 20 years. We have two amazing children: Samuel (17 years) and Cordelia (16 years). Some of my students know my Sam, who often acts in some of the plays at our church. He is currently the lead role in "Much Ado About Nothing" and will perform at a Theater in Munster. My Cordelia, is more reserved, however, she has won some awards for her art. For example, in May 2017, she won first in media at the South Shore Arts, Tri-County Art Exhibition. She has also won $1,000 for a piece she did for a contest at her school. I am so proud of my children. If you get me alone long enough, I may talk about them, and/or share some photos. :-) That's what moms do! And, as your teacher, I know I will be so very proud of each of you as well. :-) It my goal to build each of you up and to make the process of learning fun!
I also hope to prepare you to be successful in the future. It is a privilege to be your teacher this year! One that I do not take lightly.

HOBBIES: My hobbies include: Reading, writing, higher education, church, and spending time with family. I have recently started birding with my friend Sarah.
